The Community Reinforcement and Family Training (CRAFT) model helps those who have loved ones experiencing substance use disorder learn ways to improve self care, gain positive communication skills, approach the SUD with compassion and empathy, consider their own safety, and plan for their loved one to enter into treatment.

About Sarah Mears-Ivy, LPC:
Sarah is a Licensed Professional Counselor. Sarah has worked in the substance use and mental health field in various roles since 2008. Sarah has experience in residential treatment centers, outpatient treatment, medication assisted treatment (OTP), partial hospitalization, and in specialty court programs. Sarah employs evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Solution-Focused (SFBT) modalities, and Harm Reduction strategies. Sarah is a CRAFT-informed provider and a SMART Recovery Volunteer Facilitator. She enjoys working with adults navigating stressors, issues around aging, relationships, gender issues, disenfranchisement, anger, recovery maintenance, and life transitions. Sarah’s passion is helping people to live life more meaningfully and comfortably while empowering through affirmation, advocacy, education, self-exploration, and skill development.
