The Missing Pieces: Introduction to Sex Therapy

This introduction workshop will inform participants around true comprehensive sexual education that all of us needed, identify and explore normal sexual curiosities in development stages, and build a better understanding of Sexual Shame. This workshop hopes to assist in identifying continued educational needs pertaining to the sexual needs of all clients.
Objectives
- Participants will learn about common and natural [sexual] curiosities through childhood development.
- Participants will learn the operational definition of sexual shame and how it manifests in our clientele.
- Participants will begin exploring their own “growing edges” around sexual shame and note areas needed for further learning and development.
About Kayla Jones, LPC
Kayla was born and raised in Oklahoma, graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and from Southern Nazarene University with a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Counseling. Kayla has experience working in community mental health, in-patient treatment, day treatment, and outpatient settings. She has extensive training in trauma and attachment, and experience teaching in many settings including university, webinars, and podcasts. She started her candidacy for AASECT Certification for Sex Therapy in March 2023. Kayla also is a mother of one precious little girl and two fur babies and is married to Jeff Jones.
Today, Kayla enjoys utilizing her experience to serve individuals in finding their true Self, understand how their histories affect their present moment, and create safety in their lives. She is an affirming therapist with a passion for working for the Trans and Non-binary community. Kayla works hard to create an environment that is non-judgmental and safe for anyone who walks through the door.
