About Sarah Mears-Ivy, LPC
I grew up in Western Oklahoma and currently reside in the Edmond area. I enjoy spending time with my family, observing nature and wildlife, gardening, listening to music and podcasts, watching documentaries, and reading. My passion is empowering others through affirmation, advocacy, education, self-exploration, and skill development. I enjoy working with adults navigating stressors, issues around aging, relationships, gender issues, disenfranchisement, anger, recovery maintenance, and life transitions. In my practice I frequently treat chronic grief, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and post-traumatic stress. I have work in mental health since 2008. This has included working with diverse populations in terms of age, gender, race, sexuality, and socioeconomic status. I have provided services in residential treatment centers, outpatient treatment programs, specialty courts, partial hospitalization programs, and medication assisted treatment programs. I am also a SMART Recovery Facilitator.
