Best Practices for Effective Supervision

Presented by Holly Sapp, LPC

 We will discuss and work through case studies regarding supervising candidates for licensure and graduate level interns as they work with children, adolescents, and families.


Objectives

  •  Understand the role and responsibilities of a supervisor.
  • Gain practical strategies for supervising interns working with families and children.
  • Explore ethical considerations and challenges specific to family therapy and child therapy. 


About Holly Sapp


 Holly Sapp, MA, LPC, graduated from Southern Nazarene University in 2011, became licensed in 2014, and became a board approved supervisor in 2016. She has worked extensively with children and adolescents, as well as adult individuals, couples and families. She worked in private practice until 2016, when she became the director for the Health and Wellness Program at Deer Creek Public Schools, where she supervised over 40 interns throughout her time there. She became the clinical director for Renew Counseling Center at SNU in 2021, and has continued to supervise candidates and interns there.
