Do you ever work with families and wonder “how can I help this family come together? Can I help these parents cope with their child’s behavior?” Attachment is an emotional bond that is formed through nurture and care but can be very complex to repair once disrupted. In this training, we will look to gain a better understanding about what attachment looks like in all stages of life along with how behaviors correspond with different attachment styles. We will also gain an understanding of how attachment can become disrupted through trauma. Kayla Jones will introduce Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) and other aligned therapeutic Interventions to provide skills and concepts that can be utilized in the office with clients.

About Kayla Jones, LPC, CST:
Kayla, originally from Oklahoma, earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Central Oklahoma and her Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Counseling from Southern Nazarene University. With a background in community mental health, inpatient treatment, day treatment, and outpatient care, Kayla has developed a rich understanding of trauma and attachment. She’s also had the privilege of teaching in diverse settings, including universities, webinars, and podcasts. This year she obtained her Certification in Sex Therapy through AASECT.
Outside of her professional life, Kayla is a proud mother to a wonderful little girl, happily married to Jeff Jones, and enjoys being an active participant in Oklahoma City’s public art scene.
Today, Kayla is passionate about helping individuals reconnect with their true selves, understand the impact of their past on the present, and create a sense of safety in their lives. As an affirming therapist, she is especially dedicated to supporting the Trans and Non-binary community. Kayla strives to create a welcoming, non-judgmental environment where everyone feels safe and heard.
