During this session, Dr. Paul Emrich will share about contextual contributors to addiction and present culturally competent approaches to addressing addiction with First Americans. Clinical research and legal developments impacting the behavioral health of First Americans will be addressed.

About Dr. Paul Emrich
Dr. Paul Emrich is in private practice and serves as Associate Professor at East Central University, where he teaches in the Human Services Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling programs. He served as Undersecretary of Mental Health Services for the Chickasaw Nation and represented the Chickasaw Nation on multiple national committees focused on behavioral health in First American communities.
